While out and about this morning I ran into a Catalina with service valve issues, the plastic housing had cracked and was leaking when the pump was operated in high speed only. When responding to leaks, always make sure and be thorough, because some leaks happen when nothing is running, others happen when something is running, some happen with cold water, some happen with hot water.

PIC 1:  The culprit valve!

PIC 2: Pump water out

PIC 3: No fancy smancy tools required, just cut it

PIC 4: apply glue to pipe and coupler, and spin the coupler onto the pipe until it doesn't turn!!, If you don't, a new leak may have been created!! OPEN the new valve before gluing or else you may glue it shut!

NOW, re-make plumbing to heater tube, fill tub and start up, all the while checking for leaks.

DONE
