Older Blue Ridge Spa Tripping gfci outlet

Hi all,

I am new to this forum.

I bought a used Blue Ridge spa 3-4 person.

Model 303099

I can't seem to find any info or manuals on it.

2 things.

The manual push pin timer is not advancing so I plugged the GFCI cord into a timed outlet until I can replace the timer motor.

So it basically stays in the "on" position and gets turned on and off via the outlet.

It has recently started tripping the breaker at the cord. Do you think these items are related ?

It's a pretty old unit but its the perfect size for our deck and it was 400 bucks.
