High Speed Pump Tripping GFCI Breaker
Permalink

This is on a J-275 that has been installed and working since 7/2012. The pump in question is a WUA400-I.

To make a long story short, when the 2nd pump would kick on the GFCI will immediately trip. I disconnected the 2nd pump from the control board and the tub would work but I just wouldn't have my 2nd/high speed pump. I reconnected the pump and boom, GFCI tripped again.

So tonight, I started ripping the pump down to check everything out and it all tested well. I then decided to hook this pump directly up to the breaker and test it. It fired up and ran fine for a few minutes until I turned it off.

So.... now I'm stumped. Mainboard issues?

With this tub the way its setup (50 AMP) the heater doesn't run with the pump on high (that would require 60 AMPs to the tub and the jumper changed). So in my mind, the heater shouldn't be the issue.

Another issue I have now, is between the motor and the wet end there is a rubber washer that appears to have ripped. Any idea what part number or where I can get one so I can at least put the tub back together and running since I didn't winterize and its below freezing currently. I've included a picture the washer in question.
