I had my hot tub off for a few months this summer. I filled it back up, turned on the breaker, the pump came on, topside display came on. I adjusted the temperature and put the primary pump from circulation to full speed and turned on the secondary pump.
Walked inside, decided I was going to adjust the temp up a bit using the top side controller.
Went outside, pushed the buttons on the topside controller to adjust the temp and it did not respond (pumps were still running). I tried all the buttons on the controller but none of them worked. The display was working buttons were not. Normally pumps shut off after 20 minutes, but the pumps kept running past 30 minutes.
I decided to turn off the breaker and turn it back on after 60 seconds thinking it might need to reset. The top side controller came back on, but gradually faded away to a black screen.
Then I noticed that the pump did not come back on either. It did not pop the breaker.
I am still getting 220V (black to red) on the input into the main control board. 120V (black to White, Red to white).
I disconnected the top side wire from the main control board. Based on some research I did this should have removed the top side control board from the equation and triggered the circulation pump to start and heat to last saved heat setting but the pump did not come back on.
I then disconnected the ozone connection, no change. Then disconnected the secondary pump, no change.
I measured voltage across the two leads on the heater and it is zero which was expected I think since no water was running due to the pump not running. I do get 120V from the first heater lead to ground and 120V from the second heater lead to ground.
