Audio skipping on Spotify can ruin the vibe, but it’s usually easy to fix with a few smart tweaks. Start with your internet connection. Unstable Wi-Fi or constant switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data is the #1 cause of skips. If possible, download songs and listen offline to eliminate network issues completely.
Next, adjust audio quality settings. Streaming on Very High sounds great but can cause skipping on weaker connections. Set mobile data to High and reserve Very High for strong Wi-Fi. Also turn off Data Saver—it can trigger frequent buffering.
Clear the app cache (not data). Corrupted temporary files often cause playback hiccups. Go to Settings → Apps → Spotify → Storage → Clear Cache. While you’re there, disable battery optimization for Spotify so Android doesn’t throttle audio in the background.
If you’re using Bluetooth, reconnect your device or switch codecs; unstable Bluetooth links commonly cause skips. Finally, keep the app updated and compatible with your Android version, and close heavy background apps to free RAM.
